Speed Dating and Dating / Singles Events

There has been much hype about this new form of dating and whilst it may seem a bit daunting at first, speed dating can be an extremely effective way of quickly finding a partner. It generally works by having a group of tables usually arranged in a line with the females on one side and the males on the other. The females sit at their place, while the males are given approximately 3 minutes to win them over. After the 3 minutes, a siren goes off you both score your date with a hit or a miss and all the males move down one place and move on to the next female. At the end of the session, your score cards are given in to the organisers and the matches are sorted. If both you and one of your dates have matched eachother, you will be notified and it is up to you to continue things further.

Whilst this might sound pretty horendous, once you get into the swing of things, it is really not bad at all. The key to it is to find common interests as soon as possible. Generally, people's lives are divided into areas of work, spare time, relationships, interests and goals and it is usually possible to find comminality in these areas fairly quickly
